This Privacy Policy describes how HRSoftware ("we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with the MechRef mobile and desktop application ("the App").
MechRef's engineering content runs entirely on-device and requires no account. We do not collect personal data on our own servers. On Android only, the App uses Meta (Facebook) App Events to measure our advertising — see Advertising & Analytics below. The Windows version collects none of this.
We do not collect any of the following:
· Personal identification information (name, email, address, phone number)
· Location data
· Contacts, messages, photos, or files
· Browser or search history
· Crash logs or diagnostics
The only data collected is the advertising and app-event data described under Advertising & Analytics below, and only on Android.
MechRef offers optional in-app purchases to unlock premium features. All payment transactions are processed exclusively by Google Play (Android) or Microsoft Store (Windows). We do not receive, process, or store any payment or billing information. Please refer to the privacy policies of Google and Microsoft for details on how they handle transaction data.
The App may use an internet connection solely to verify in-app purchase entitlements through the platform store (Google Play / Microsoft Store). No personal data is transmitted during this process. All technical reference content (thread tables, calculators, engineering data) is stored locally on your device.
On the Android version, MechRef integrates the Meta (Facebook) App Events SDK to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns on Meta platforms.
Through this SDK, the following is collected and shared with Meta Platforms, Inc. for advertising attribution and analytics:
· Your device's advertising identifier (Advertising ID)
· Limited app-event data — app installs, app launches, and Pro purchase events (including purchase amount and currency)
This data is transmitted over a secure, encrypted connection. The Windows (Microsoft Store) version does not include this SDK and collects none of the above.
You control this: you can reset or delete your Advertising ID, or opt out of ad personalization, in your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads). See how Meta uses this data in Meta's Privacy Policy.
MechRef stores no personal data on our own servers. You may request deletion of the data collected about you through the App by emailing support@hrsoftware.ar; we will action and forward such requests as applicable. You can also reset your Advertising ID at any time from your device settings, and manage data held by Meta through Meta's own tools.
Other than the Meta App Events SDK described above (Android only), MechRef does not integrate any other analytics, advertising, or tracking services. Payment processing is handled by Google Play or the Microsoft Store as described under In-App Purchases.
MechRef is a general-audience engineering tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and the advertising features described above are not intended to target them.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
